Focusing on the Heart and Home is the theme for Chicdriven Women Empowerment Expo on October 1 & 2

The Chicdriven Women Empowerment Expo will have its second leg on October 1&2 at the Alabang Town Center, Muntinlupa. Looking back at the  seven principles in women empowerment  it offers practical guidance to business and the private sector on how to empower women in the workplace, marketplace and community such as:

1. Establish high-level corporate leadership for gender equality
2. Treat all women and men fairly at work – respect and support human rights and nondiscrimination
3. Ensure the health, safety and well-being of all women and men workers
4. Promote education, training and professional development for women
5. Implement enterprise development, supply chain and marketing practices that empower women
6. Promote equality through community initiatives and advocacy
7. Measure and publicly report on progress to achieve gender equality

I believe that women’s health is the number one  priority because a healthy ME brings out healthy relationships at home and at the workplace. I am glad that the Chicdriven Women Empowerment Expo will focus on the heart and home.

Coming from its successful first leg at the Glorietta Activity Center, where there were free seminars and workshops aimed to help women achieve work-life balance and which was attended by almost 2000 participants.

Presented by Mazda Philippines and Shell Fuel Save, the 2-day expo will focus on home and the heart. The seminars will focus on the different aspects of home and family relationship-improvement. Free breast cancer screening will be conducted in cooperation with Zonta Club Alabang and the Gender and Development Office of Muntinlupa.

The Chicdriven Women Empowerment Expo is organized by Jeanette Ipapo –Tuason, who authors the Chicdriven column in the Philippine Daily Inquirer and website of the same name.
